Our take

Hi Dotikers!

Snowflake just wrote a $200 million check to Anthropic. And this isn't an investment, it's a strategic admission. This multi-year partnership integrates Claude directly into Snowflake Cortex AI to serve the platform's 12,600 customers. The message is crystal clear: in the data cloud war, AI is no longer a nice-to-have, it's a matter of survival.

Why Anthropic over OpenAI or Google? The numbers speak for themselves. According to Menlo Ventures, Anthropic now holds 32% of the enterprise LLM market, compared to 25% for OpenAI (which commanded 50% back in 2023). In coding, it's a blowout: 42% market share for Claude versus 21% for GPT. When Sridhar Ramaswamy, Snowflake's CEO and former Google executive, talks about a "nine-figure alignment," we know this isn't just another API contract.

The reality is that Snowflake has been chasing Databricks for two years on the AI front. This partnership attempts to close the gap with a promising native integration. Translation for your business teams: query their data in natural language, without writing a single line of code.

Our take? This deal perfectly illustrates Anthropic's new playbook: infiltrate enterprise infrastructure through data platforms rather than playing the consumer card like OpenAI. With 300,000 business customers and a $5 billion run-rate, Dario Amodei's startup has picked its side. And apparently, so have Fortune 500 CIOs.

When data and intelligence merge natively, it's no longer digital transformation. It's natural selection.
