Hi Dotikers!

Lovable raises $330 million and proclaims the "Age of the Builder"

Swedish startup Lovable just closed a $330 million Series B, led by Google with backing from Nvidia, HubSpot, and Deutsche Telekom. Valuation: $6.6 billion. For a 120-person company that hit $100 million in annual recurring revenue just eight months after its first million, it's safe to say "vibe coding" has found its audience.

The concept, popularized by Andrej Karpathy, is straightforward: you describe what you want in plain language, the AI generates the code, you don't even look at what's under the hood. Lovable takes this logic to its ultimate conclusion with an unapologetic mission: enabling the 99% of people who don't code to build complete web applications. Teachers, marketers, non-technical founders, everyone's invited to the party.

This is where things get interesting. While Lovable celebrates the democratization of code, Cursor, its American rival targeting professional developers, just banked $2.3 billion at a $29.3 billion valuation. Four times higher. The market's message is crystal clear: investors are still betting heavily on tools that augment existing developers rather than those promising to replace them.

Lovable does have compelling arguments. Its growth is meteoric, its positioning unique, and the appetite for rapid MVPs shows no signs of slowing. But between building a prototype in an hour and maintaining an application in production, there's a chasm AI hasn't yet bridged. The era of the universal builder may be underway, but seasoned architects still have plenty of runway ahead.

And if you want to get up to speed on this, here's where it's happening.
