Our take

Hi Dotikers!

For two years, the ritual question was how long Europe could survive in AI without American datacenters. This Tuesday, Microsoft and Mistral AI signed a multi-billion dollar deal that flips the question entirely: Redmond will rent compute from the French champion to serve its own Azure customers in Europe. Yes, you read that right. The American coming to buy GPUs from the French is a bit like Texas importing barbecue.

In practice, the deal has two layers. Microsoft leans on Mistral's infrastructure, which has already secured 200 MW of compute and targets a gigawatt by 2030, according to Les Echos. In return, Mistral Medium 3.5 and OCR 4 land in Microsoft Foundry, with Medium 3.5 also joining Copilot Studio and Azure. And while Bloomberg reports a potential 3 billion euro raise that would value the unicorn at 20 billion, everyone is waving the magic word: sovereignty.

Let's be honest for a minute. Sovereignty here is the marketing wrapper, not the product. Sovereignty built on Nvidia chips and Microsoft's cloud is sovereignty on life support. The real story lies elsewhere: compute has become the scarcest resource in the industry, and Mistral was smart enough to position itself as a supplier, not just a consumer. That is the masterstroke.

Yesterday's news already confirmed it: Anthropic had to backpedal and keep Fable 5 in its Max subscription plans, after trying to move it to API-only access to save on GPUs. When even the American giants are rationing their best models, owning datacenters in Europe is no longer a talking point for political op-eds. It is an asset worth billions. Mistral figured this out before everyone else, and this week, it shows on the check.

Alex.

The AI Agent You Can Trust

The best assistants don't multitask their attention across a hundred tools. Neither does Catch. It's an AI agent that focuses on one thing — the admin work you'd rather not touch — and does it exceptionally well.

Scheduling, flights, restaurants, follow-ups, vendors, clients. You hand it over; Catch handles the back-and-forth and comes back with it done.

No context-switching. No dropped balls. Just your admin, quietly cleared — so your focus stays on the work only you can do.

Meet the agent built for admin, and it'll be ready to work before your next meeting.

Get started at catchagent.ai — and give your attention back to what matters.
