But DeepSeek costs roughly a third of the price, and per-token comparisons suggest the gap can stretch to 4.5x depending on your workload. One developer's back-of-napkin math puts it at nearly 12,000 images processed per dollar at off-peak rates. That's not a discount, that's a different business model.
