Our take
Hi Dotikers!
OpenAI is no longer content with just being the creator of ChatGPT. The company is multiplying its fronts with boundless ambition: reinventing our digital daily life from A to Z. After persistent rumors about a web browser to compete with Chrome, a mysterious social network, and even hardware projects under discussion, here comes the OpenAI Jobs Platform, an AI-powered recruitment platform directly targeting LinkedIn.
This all-out offensive, orchestrated by Fidji Simo (OpenAI's new CEO of Applications), outlines the contours of a complete ecosystem where AI would no longer be just a tool, but the architect of our professional and social interactions. The recruitment platform, scheduled for mid-2026, comes with an ambitious program: training and certifying 10 million Americans in AI by 2030, with Walmart as the first partner.
The irony is delicious: Reid Hoffman, co-founder of LinkedIn and historic OpenAI investor, sees his protégé become his rival. But the real question is no longer whether OpenAI can compete with established giants. Rather, it's: how far will this expansion go? Browser, social networks, hardware, recruitment... OpenAI seems determined to create a parallel universe where every service would be reimagined through artificial intelligence. A strategy that fascinates as much as it worries !
