Our take
Hi Dotikers!
ideo AI is no longer a curiosity ; it’s a production tool. The claim is spectacular, but not gratuitous… OpenAI announced Sora 2 last night, with visible progress in physical realism, scene control, and; most notably ; synchronized audio. At this point, calling it a mere filter is like confusing a rocket with a scooter.
The real game-changer isn’t just the algorithm. OpenAI is launching a social app, Sora, featuring a cameo mode that lets users insert themselves into a scene after identity verification. Safeguards have been announced, including a liveness check, plus clear limits: short videos, rollout in the U.S. and Canada, free access with caps, and a higher-quality Pro version. An API is also on the way. In other words, video AI is shifting from lab demo to mass-market platform.
This is an infrastructure shift. Value is moving away from capture and toward writing, art direction, and editing. Marketing, training, and events teams will gain speed and iteration capacity. Jobs built on generic shots and standard templates, meanwhile, will face immediate pressure. On the rights side, OpenAI’s opt-out stance shifts the burden of proof and will irritate studios ; some have already pulled out. Without robust traceability, explicit consent, and clear remuneration, adoption will run into regulatory and reputational roadblocks.
Try out Sora 2 as soon as you can 😉.
